Speaking 1Juan Teodoro Katigbak of JCI Lipa represented JCI Philippines in the Speaking Championship for Asia and the Pacific (ASPAC).

In the said competition, participants first competed in the preliminary round, where only the top 3 contenders would make it to the finals. Out of the 10 competing Countries, Katigbak from Philippines, along with the finalist from Cambodia and Hong Kong made the cut and competed for the title.

The Public Speaking finals was held as timed agenda during the General Assembly II. The winner was announced during the awards ceremony, last June 14, where Cambodia was hailed as the representative of the Asia and the Pacific to the 2015 JCI World Congress in Kanazawa, Japan

The 2015 JCI Area Conference topics were chosen by JCI members in each Area through an online survey. There are two separate topics for each round of the JCI Public Speaking Championship. The preliminary competition topic was Education is the key to empowering our next generation out of poverty, and the final competition topic was Access to technology is the key to empowering young people.
